Opening Day for faculty and staff will be from 10 a.m. until noon in Byrne Memorial Hall. Lunch will follow in the Outlaw Recreation Center dining area.

Convocation is required for all new students. The Class of 2013 will have their class photo taken immediately following convocation.

Students and their families are invited to join SHC administrators, faculty and staff at a reception in their honor. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be available.

Students will have the opportunity to attend a very special lecture by Cedric Jennings, whose experience is outlined in this year’s Common Reading Project book, “A Hope in the Unseen.” Following the event, students will discuss the book and speaker in small groups.

A long tradition in Jesuit education, during this liturgy we gather as an entire college community, to pray that the Holy Spirit to be with us in the coming academic year.

All students, faculty and staff are invited to kick off the academic year. Join the SHC Community for a picnic dinner, music and games.

The Center for Academic Excellence will host two open houses in preparation of its Grand Opening on August 31.

The event will happen two days – August 25 and 26 from 4–6 pm.
