BayFest Discount Passes deadline Sept. 18

BayFest, Alabama's Largest Music Festival, is celebrating its 20th Anniversary Oct. 3-5.  We have the opportunity for a limited time to place orders for Weekend Passes at the reduced price of $50.  If you wish to purchase passes, please bring your money and complete an order form at the Finance and Accounting Office located next door to Eichold Gallery in the Fine Arts Building.

Your deadline to order at discount prices is Thursday, Sept. 18.  Make sure you do not miss out!  The price for one 3-day pass increases to $80 if you wait and buy it off-campus later.  For more information, please go to http://www.bayfest.com

Distinguished Young Women seeks volunteers

Local nonprofit group Distinguished Young Women is hosting a fundraiser tennis tournament and is in need of student volunteers. 

  • Event date: Sunday, Sept. 28
  • Time: 2 hour shifts between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. You are able to work more than one shift if you choose.
  • Place: Mobile Tennis Center at Langan Municipal Park (approx. 2 miles from SHC campus)
  • Attire: sporty/tennis casual
  • Qualifications/duties: open to anyone, but especially interested in volunteers with knowledge of tennis to record and tally scorecards. Other non-tennis duties include checking in participants at registration table, selling raffle tickets, and assisting with awards ceremony.

"Catholicism" Video Series: Explore the Faith!

The Knights of Columbus at Spring Hill are pleased to host monthly screenings of the acclaimed "Catholicism" video series by Fr. Robert Barron which takes viewers around the world and deep into the Christian faith. Each evening will begin with one episode from the series and continue with conversation in small groups, allowing participants to reflect deeply about Christianity and their own experiences of faith. Students, staff, faculty, and members of the Mobile community of all backgrounds and beliefs are warmly welcome.

Join us at 7:00pm in the Gautrelet Room on the following Mondays: 

  • Sept. 22 
  • Oct. 20
  • Nov. 10
  • Dec. 1.
