SHC Campus Update
The Gary and Beverly Cooper Foundation is sponsoring two $125 travel awards for students who have traveled or will travel to a conference during the 2013-14 academic year. Preference will be given to students who present original research at a national or regional conference as well as at the SHC Undergraduate Research Symposium.
To apply for the 2014 Cooper Foundation Travel Award, send your Curriculum Vita and research abstract to Dr. Franco-Zamudio at firstname.lastname@example.org by March 15th.
Students are invited to submit applications for the SHCURS. We are hoping that students from a variety of disciplines will present during the 2014 Spring Hill College Undergraduate Research Symposium (SHCURS). The application is due April 15, 2015. (http://kudzu.shc.edu/urs/)
The SHCURS provides students with the opportunity to present their research, internship and classroom projects to a larger audience. The symposium also provides a space for students, faculty, and the community to examine the connection between research and education. Student attendees who are not yet involved in research will discover that attending the symposium is a great way to learn about the broad range of opportunities available at the Spring Hill College.
Attendees are welcome to stop by the Student Center in the LeBlanc Ballroom any time during the symposium on April 25, 2014. The event is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
The Friends of the Library will sponsor two Charles Boyle Research Awards for student projects of exceptional quality: 1) Special Collections – $250: Awarded to research that demonstrates substantive utilization of the Burke Memorial Library’s special collections including Archives and federal depository materials, and 2) Print & Digital Collections – $250: Awarded to research that demonstrates substantive utilization of the Burke Memorial Library’s print or digital collections. Application due March 22, 2014
In addition to the Charles Boyle Friends of the Library Awards, the Gary and Beverly Cooper Foundation will be sponsoring Excellence in Presentation awards in the following categories: Off-Campus Research, Service Projects, Class Projects, Original Research, Art, and Media.
